Week in Review – The really short one.

Happy Monday!

Random occurrences and accomplishments.

  • Started the week off taking Ziggy to the vet – she’s fine, she just had a claw that had wrapped around and we couldn’t trim it ourselves. Plus, considering she’s 14 years old, she’s getting stiff in her old age and the vet told me about a supplement we can give her to help her get around.  We’re probably going to need to find a place to stick a litter box upstairs too…
  • Didn’t take many photos and I literally cannot remember most of the week… there’s a hole. Haha!
  • Put in my request for time off in December.  I can’t remember the last time I took off the last week of December and I’m looking forward to it immensely!
  • Took photos for a Day In The Life post this week.

  • Had a semi-rough Enzo week.  His day care teachers told us it was another rough week, so we’re once again trying to figure out what has set him off and what we can do to get him back no track.  It’s never fun to hear things like, “This can’t keep happening.” He’s just very sensitive and very… passionate? high spirited? vocal? intense? all of the above? We just need to find the best way to help him manage his emotions and channel his frustrations.

That’s all I’ve got for this week… I really need to start taking better notes or something.

Happy Monday!

Week In Review – The one where I turn 34.

WEEK IN REVIEW (in no particular order)

Random occurrences and accomplishments.

  • Made so-so applesauce (not sweet enough and too much cinnamon) and awesome apple butter

  • Had a pop-up boutique at work. Kind of exhausting, but it ended up being worth it.
  • Celebrated turning 34 by taking the day off of work, playing a new game from my husband and decorating for the season.

  • We had a movie night and watched the live-action Jungle Book.  It was okay… the kids thought it was a little too scary and judging by how much Josh was on his phone I don’t think he enjoyed it that much. Haha. I was kind of indifferent.

  • I also enjoyed a LARGE glass of wine, thanks to my sister.  Now THIS is a wine glass.

  • We went to the State Fair on Saturday with the kiddos (more on that later), but the highlight for them was riding an elephant.

  • On Sunday we stayed home and I tried to get a few things done around the house while Josh took an impromptu trip to the fish store!  He had picked up a tank at Goodwill and we thought Enzo might enjoy them in his room. It took some rearranging, but he seems to enjoy the bedroom switch around… so does Vega.  Uzi, however, is not happy about the change and misses Enzo’s bunk arrangement. So far only one fish has a name… Phoebe’s black fish which she decided to call Patooey thanks to Josh making that sound.

I think this week should be slower… maybe.  One never really knows, though with this time of year.

Have a great Monday!

Week In Review – Work, Apples and Birds

Random occurrences and accomplishments.

  • Work, work, work. As usual, amiright?
  • I made yummy mac and cheese and even did some meal planning! Only to realize I forgot to cancel the week’s Blue Apron, which threw off my plan.  Good intentions, right?
  • Started working on getting Phoebe to fall asleep on her own. I still lay down with her, but I’ve started getting up as she’s drifting off. I’m hopeful that eventually she’ll just stay in her bed when I leave her room… at least until around 10:00-11:00 when she’s ready to come sleep with us. I keep telling myself it’ll happen eventually – I mean Enzo sleeps in his room all night now.
  • Went to a Raptor release over the weekend and to a local apple orchard for some apples. More on that later, but here are a few pictures…

(The leggings we’re wearing and my top are all from LuLaRoe if you need something cute and comfy to wear).

  • Watched too much TV thanks to the Fall season starting up.  Feeling kind of meh about most shows, though and think I’ll be reading and watching older shows more often than I will watching new shows.  I did inform my husband I’ll be unavailable for part of Thanksgiving weekend since Gilmore Girls will be airing.

And that’s all I’ve got.  It’s going to be a pretty busy week for me, so maybe I’ll actually try and take more photos this time around. 😉

Happy Monday!

Week in Review – Slightly Overdue

Random occurrences and accomplishments.

  • Work, work, work. My side business is gaining slight momentum, but it can be exhausting when you throw in all the other stress we’re dealing with. The guest room looks much more organized now, though.

  • I’ve been actually curling my hair every day and I’m loving my new haircut. I’ve also had a really good body-positive week… not sure why, but I’m really comfortable in my skin this week. And my husband knows how to take the best photos of me. 😉  Also, why won’t WordPress flip my photo?  I’m too busy to care.

  • Is currently trying to figure out why one of the cats keeps periodically crapping in Phoebe’s room. It’s not cool and she doesn’t think so either. Our conversation Friday morning:

Phoebe (coming out of her room after I had cleaned up said poop): What’s that smell?

Me: A kitty pooped in your room so I had to spray cleaner.

Phoebe (whispered in disbelief): A kitty pooped… in my room?

Silence.

  • Rearranged our downstairs pantry/random closet and now I want to get rid of more stuff. I keep thinking about what it would be like to get rid of a ton of stuff and move into a smaller house.  I think the initial getting rid of stuff would be difficult, but once we actually did it, I would love to have a smaller house to clean and just less stuff in general.
  • Have been trying to cut back on sugar and stuff, but I’m failing miserable because I eat crappy when I’m stressed. I did, however, find the best yogurts ever.

20160903_145050

  • We went to Josh’s cousin’s wedding this weekend and the kids had a glorious time running around. Phoebe especially enjoyed the dancing part and both kids were excited to get to drive home in the dark. Haha

And there you have it!  I can’t imagine this upcoming week will be very exciting, but one never knows, right??

Week/Weekend in Review

I’m a little late to link up with the usual Week In Review because of things that will most likely be in next week’s review, but here we go!

WEEK IN REVIEW (in no particular order)

Random occurrences and accomplishments.

  • The week was hot and sticky and therefore I didn’t get out and walk much. I have a feeling my workmates were grateful I didn’t come back from lunch dripping sweat and stanky.
  • Made some progress buying supplies for my new business venture (I’m going to be a LuLaRoe Fashion Consultant – here is my shameless plug: http://www.facebook.com/groups/LuLaRoeHeatherShoberg. The clothes are seriously cute and comfortable if you aren’t already familiar.

  • Took Josh to get his wisdom teeth out and babied him until the kids got home and then it was like… Nope. They’re insane, not doing this alone! Ha ha.

20160721_090242 (1)

  • Started watching Stranger Things on Netflix and finished it. It’s AWESOME.  I really do recommend it.
  • The kids and I went to see Finding Nemo so Josh could get some rest and it was really cute. Phoebe did so-so at sitting through it. Thankfully the theater was empty aside from a mom and her tween.
