Winding Down

I am so looking forward to having a 5 day weekend.  Josh and I decided to take Friday off and go see a movie (hopefully) while the kiddos are in day care. This might be my last post before the new year as well depending on time and how easily my blog transfer goes.  It was a long weekend. I caught some kind of cold bug, which combined with my wierd allergy issues meant I was pretty much wiped out.  Friday I woke up with one of those sinus headaches where your teeth throb, swollen tonsils, sore throat – you name it.  My hives also decided to get much worse over the weekend, so it’s time to get something stronger and see the allergist, I think.  I woke up with lips plumper than a Kardashian’s this Sunday and today my left eye is puffy… only the left one.  So weird.  Enough complaining, though!

If you want to win “Best Cookie/Bar” in your office cookie competition, than make Gooey Honey Blondies (like I did).

Awesome family photos gone wrong.

Really looking forward to seeing this!

Friday… er Wednesday Funday!

There is nothing better than a long weekend. Okay, maybe not having to work at all would be better, but I’ll take what I can get.  I’m hoping that by saying it, I won’t completely jinx us this weekend, but we’re going to attempt potty training this weekend in the hopes that by Monday, Enzo will be good to go.  He was showing interest, so we’ll see if still wants to come Friday. 😉 Hooray parenting!

I’m hooked on Serial.

And finally, if Dwight Schrute quotes were motivational posters.

Friday Funday!

We have a fairly uneventful weekend planned. Tomorrow I get to get my eyeglass/contact prescription updated because my eyesight has unsurprisingly gotten worse. My appointment is, however, located near delicious cupcakes, so you can bet I’ll be making a stop.

A video game that simulates dementia.

An 80’s child’s Christmas Wish List. Some of these I had completely forgotten about!

So… at least we’re not in Buffalo. This is my nightmare.

Yay! A new one!

Friday Funday!

It may only be 17 degrees outside, but it’s sunny and it’s Friday, so hooray! Phoebe had her one year check-up today, which included 5 shots (4 vacs + flu shot), so I think tonight I’ll be snuggling our little lady.  In the meantime…

Going along with stillness, why we need a secular sabbath.

Justine Bateman on being a middle-aged college student.  If she can do it, then I can definitely go back one day.

Bill Murray being Bill Murray – good read – makes me love him even more.

Friday Funday!

I’m not sure what the weekend will bring now that we have a sick little lady on our hands.  She’s got a nasty cough, double ear infection, and is just not herself.  That also means none of us have slept really well, so I imagine we’ll be hanging out around the house this weekend, especially since we’re officially going to enter winter this next week with highs in the 20s.  Sigh.

Thankfully, though, I can have ALL of the coffee.

These 40 facts about every day life will make you smile.

And if this doesn’t get you excited… well, you’re clearly not a Hobbit/LOTR fan, and I’m not sure our friendship will last long. 😉
